Shabu Sha – A Shabu Shabu in Paris? パリでしゃぶしゃぶ?
In the Marais, trendy district, a new cosy place…
When China meets Japan…
A Wong Kai Wai mood but not for love… More for fun.
The dishes-go-round like the kaiten sushi (回転寿司) is entertaining.
Shabu Shabu… Errr… But first what is it?
Shabu Shabu is the name of a Japanese dish. The original dish is the Chinese hot pot (shuan yang roy).
Shabu Shabu is an onomatopoeia evocating the sound of the ingredients stirring in the cooking pot.
Appetizers
All you can eat menu / Menu à volonté / 食べ放題のシステム
You have a pot of boiling water…
1) Choose the broth flavour: natural, spicy, miso…
2) Choose the sauce: Satay, peanuts..?
3) Choose and pour the ingredients you like to make a custom dish.
Drinks
We took a refreshing lemon honey tea.
They is also a little selection of Japanese Saké and whiskys (Nikka, Yoichi) and even the Taiwanese, Kavalan Solist Sherry Cask.
REMARKS:
Take a look at the other room in the back. I don’t have pictures. But it is full of tin toys and other cute objects…
The desert menu should be ready for the summer but we finished the meal with a fortune cookie.
+
This is not a Japanese restaurant. It is really a fusion of Asian dishes…
The concept is fun and the meal becomes a cool experience.
Nice decoration, nice service
Freshness and great variety of ingredients.
Vegan en gluten-free friendly.
The price
–
Bad side of the price: all you can eat menu, the quantity of the ingredients.
Some ingredients were turning for a long time and seemed a bit tired (rare though).
18 € lunch & 25€ dinner all you can eat menu
